About this tour
The Similan Islands are the best-known snorkeling destination on the Andaman coast, and Khao Lak is the closest departure point. This full-day speedboat tour leaves from a private pier in Tub Lamu, 20 minutes from Khao Lak, and visits four of the islands: snorkeling around Islands 5 and 6, beach time and lunch at Princess Bay on Koh Miang (Island 4), a second snorkeling stop at Christmas Point or Namchai Bay near Koh Ba Ngu (Island 9), and the famous Sail Rock viewpoint on Koh Similan (Island 8).
The morning starts at the pier with check-in, snorkeling equipment and hot drinks with bakery. After the crossing you snorkel over coral gardens with clownfish, parrotfish and, with luck, turtles. Lunch is served on Koh Miang. In the afternoon you climb to Sail Rock for the panoramic view across the archipelago, then return to the pier for refreshments, papaya salad, fried chicken and ice cream before the transfer back to your hotel.
The Similan Islands National Park is open from mid October to mid May. The route and snorkeling sites can change with the weather, sea and tide. A two-storey speed catamaran upgrade is available on request at a different price.
