Experience the wonder of Hong Island, a hidden gem that is a must-see for all adventure-seekers and nature enthusiasts. This breathtaking island is one of Thailand’s most beautiful and remains a relatively undiscovered treasure. You’ll be fortunate to have this insider’s experience, as only a few visitors venture here.
The island derives its name from the eroded caves that are located at its center. These caves conceal a lake with limited access to the sea, and can only be accessed once a day during a specific one-hour time slot. A canoe is the only way to enter the Hong Island during this time. At low tide, the entrance is blocked by sharp-edged stones and mud, while at high tide, the access is completely submerged. This natural wonder adds to the island’s allure and makes it all the more captivating.
In addition to Hong Island, you’ll also visit a Ice Cream Cave and Panak & Bat cave Island, another exciting spots in close proximity to mangrove jungles and limestone karsts. Explore the natural beauty of Phang Nga Bay and relish in this unique experience that few have had the opportunity to experience.
Photo stop at James Bond Island, as you approach the island, you’ll see the famous limestone cliffs that were featured in the James Bond movie “The Man with the Golden Gun.”
Take a break from your adventure to indulge in some delicious local Thai food at the beautiful restaurant in Koh Panyee fishing village. You’ll have some time to explore the surroundings and take in the local culture.
Depart for Phang Nga Park on the mainland, and visit Suwan Khuha temple, while also spotting wild monkeys at the entrance of stunning cave with a reclining Buddha.
Then return back to Khao Lak to drop you off at your hotel.
