Day 2: Discover More Wonders
The second day of your Cheow Lan Lake adventure tour starts early with a refreshing cup of coffee or tea, setting the tone for another adventure-filled day. You’ll head out for bird watching in the rainforest canopy, paddling a self-paddle kayak under the guidance of your expert guide. This peaceful activity allows you to witness the vibrant birdlife and the tranquil beauty of the rainforest from a unique perspective.
After breakfast at the resort, your journey continues to Khao Sok (mainland) National Park. As you drive to your first stop, you’ll have the chance to explore the sights of local life in southern Thailand. Upon reaching the Sok River, you’ll set off on a bamboo raft, paddled by experienced guides. The day culminates at an ethical elephant sanctuary. Hear each elephant’s rescue story from the mahouts, then join a guided observation walk as the elephants forage and enjoy their mud bath on their own terms. There is no riding, no bathing and no physical contact; guests help prepare the herbal health supplement that the mahouts feed to the elephants.

No. The sanctuary follows a strict no riding, no bathing, no contact policy. You watch the elephants from protected viewing areas while the mahouts explain each animal's rescue story and care. Guests help prepare a herbal supplement that the mahouts feed to the elephants.
Two lunches, one dinner and one breakfast, plus water and soft drinks. On day 2 you help cook your own southern Thai lunch. Alcoholic drinks and tips are not included.

A small bag only, as luggage space on the boat is limited. Bring swimwear, a towel, a change of clothes, shoes that can get wet, a torch, sun cream, insect repellent and any medication. Your main luggage can stay at your hotel in Khao Lak.
Yes. Children aged 4 to 11 pay the child price shown in the booking box, and adults are 12 and above. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The jungle walk is about 1.5 km on uneven ground, so it suits children who are used to walking.
Yes. Children under 4 travel free on all our tours when they share a seat with a parent. Children aged 4 to 11 pay the child price shown in the booking box.
Free cancellation up to 14 days before the tour, with a full refund. Within 14 days of the tour date, 50 percent of the price is kept as the room reservation fee, because the floating resort charges us for the room. Instead of cancelling, you can move your booking to any date within 12 months free of charge, subject to room availability. No-shows are charged in full. If the national park or the resort closes the lake, for example for a storm, you get a full refund or a free new date.
